Embedded Software Engineer / Application Architect

Aspinity is looking to hire an experienced embedded software and algorithm engineer with a focus on developing and deploying high-performance application software for Aspinity’s revolutionary analog processor solution. You will be responsible to design, develop, and deploy production-quality application software to run on Aspinity’s analog processor in targeted customer applications.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Design application code for embedded systems using complex programmable analog circuits and microcontrollers, targeted for specific sensor applications
  • Specify and design functions to be implemented into an embedded core using electrical circuits, microcontroller peripherals, and software algorithms
  • Develop and implement algorithms into production software optimized for analog signal processing
  • Integrate, test, and release application-specific libraries and software development kits
  • Interface with customers/partners to support end-product integration and system optimization

Requirements:

  • BSEE/CPE/CS degree with ~5 years of relevant industry experience in application design and software development
  • Expert in Embedded C/C++ with experience in signal processing, communications, multimedia or similar performance-oriented domain
  • Experience with signal processing—including machine learning, signal detection, and optimization techniques; Experience with analog signal processing is a plus
  • Experience in one or more of the following sensor application areas: audio/voice, vibration monitoring, touch/proximity, biosensing, electric/magnetic fields
  • Experience with design, implementation, and development environments for reconfigurable systems (such as FPGAs)
  • Ability to create, read, and understand computer models developed in Simulink, etc.
  • Understanding of electrical circuit design and debug
  • Experience in semiconductor industry—pre-silicon verification and prototype development of early silicon a major plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience working in a fast-paced collaborative environment; Able to adapt to change quickly and effectively—including prioritizing tasks
  • Strong on attention to detail and making sure issues and tasks get followed through to completion

Systems Software Architect

Aspinity is looking to hire a top-notch systems software architect to develop a robust and leading-edge application software development environment for Aspinity’s revolutionary analog processor solution. You will be responsible for leading the design, development and deployment of software-based tools and development environment in support of Aspinity’s analog processor solutions.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Specify and design a UI and software development environment for a novel programmable analog processor integrated circuit; UI will support development of application-level software to run on the analog processor
  • Create a state-of-the-art development environment that provides users with the capability to design their detailed sensor systems around Aspinity’s ASP core
  • Design and implement a software design kit to be used for application-level coding and design
  • Apply software testing methodologies to reprogrammable hardware systems
  • Work closely with R&D and hardware engineers to develop/integrate software algorithms, libraries, and implementation code
  • Integrate, test, and release application-specific libraries and software development kits
  • Interface with customers/partners for development environment requirements, updates, and general support

Requirements:

  • BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent field of study
  • 7+ years of experience developing User/Kernel Mode Device Drivers, C/C++ Programming Language
  • Experience with state-of-the-art MCU/CPU development environments; Good understanding of computer architectures
  • Experience with design, implementation, and development environments for reconfigurable systems (such as FPGAs)
  • Experience with optimization algorithms and machine learning
  • Experience with signal processing and signal detection is a plus
  • Experience in system integration using LabVIEW, Matlab or Visual C++

Analog / Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer

Aspinity is seeking highly skilled Analog/Mixed-signal IC Design Engineers to join our team developing ultra-low-power, high-performance analog/mixed-signal IP blocks and ICs in support of Aspinity’s revolutionary analog processor core. As a seasoned Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer, you will architect, design, layout, measure, and productize silicon-based analog/mixed-signal IP blocks and ICs.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Work with the analog signal processor core team to design and implement new and upgraded IP and IC solutions based on Aspinity’s advanced technology
  • Schematic-design, layout, verification, and laboratory-characterization of ICs
  • Work with silicon foundries, manage qualification and high-volume production-testing of ICs
  • Work with application developers to co-architect and co-develop ultra-low-power hardware and software systems

Requirements:

  • BSEE degree and 9 years of experience or an MS degree and 6 years of experience or a PhD and 3 years of experience
  • Strong background in high-performance, low-power analog and mixed-signal design, at both IC and board-level; Hands-on experience in system-level design
  • Must have a proven track record of taking multiple mixed-signal ICs through the entire development cycle, from concept to production
  • Experience with the silicon manufacturers and working with various CMOS process technologies
  • Proficiency in system and behavioral modeling using Matlab, SystemVerilog, Verilog-A/AMS
  • Experience in one or more of the following sensor application areas: audio/voice, vibration monitoring, touch/proximity, biosensing, electric/magnetic fields
  • Experience with systems involving sensor technology, signal conditioning, MCU interfacing
  • Experience with design, implementation, and development environments for reconfigurable systems (such as FPGAs) is a plus
  • Experience with signal processing—including machine learning, signal detection, and analog signal processing—is a plus
